Authentic design from a 1940s pattern. Two-tone casual 4-button jacket with contrasting front panels.
Choice of 2, 3, or 4 patch pockets with a slanted opening. Straight box bottom with no vents. Jacket is lined.
This jacket style was quite popular in the 40s and had a distinct California casual style. It can be made with plaid fabric
on the front panels and the remaining a contrasting solid color gabardine, or the harder to find solid color gabardine
front panels with the remaining plaid - both styles were popular choices. You've seen this Shady Lady jacket
on Peter "Pops" Walsh, the vocalist for Swing Session.
Suggested fabric: wool & wool blends. Choose the color combinations you would like.

Authentic design from a late 1930's pattern. Wide spread pointed collar, cuffed sleeves, 5 button, belted jacket.
This jacket is lined and box cut with no vents. The 4 pockets are box pleated with a flap. The jacket can be made
in one solid color gabardine, or it can be made with contrasting front panels. The man that wears this jacket looks
distinctively smooth. If the Shady Lady could marry an inanimate object, this jacket would be it!
